So I am pretty obsessed with the Kardashians like everyone else on Earth. The only division is that 50% of us love them, and the other 50% love to hate them. I belong in the first group. So whether you love them or hate them, you can’t deny that we’ve watched Kourtney evolve into a #healthqueen over the past ten+ years.
I’m going into this new part of my journey of health, mindfulness and wellness (?!) with an open mind + ready to try new things to integrate into my life! So when I saw this milky avocado smoothie I know I had to try it.
My only dilemma, I don’t like avocado.
You’re probably thinking “wut?”. But hear me out, I am the kind of person who knows when I dislike something but that doesn’t mean I’ll try it again, in a different version. No I can’t relate to the “Guac is Extra….” avo jokes. I don’t know if I can get behind Avocado Toast, but I feel like Avocado pudding I can dig. I love a good smoothie situation, I am currently trying to perfect an Aloe Water recipe because I cannot fathom paying another $2 for Aloe Water in a green plastic bottle (yes I’ve got some weird personal beef with Aloe Water).
So what’s the recipe?
According to POOSH, Kourt’s lifestyle site + blog the Avocado smoothie only calls for 3 ingredients: 1 organic avocado, 1 cup of coconut milk, 2 teaspoons of Manuka Honey (can be substituted for dates).
What did I do?
According to my bank account I could afford: regular avocados, some boxed coconut milk (I refrigerated it, I’m not a maniac) and some regular honey for $3.99 because ya girl didn’t realize how EXPENSIVE Manuka honey was! Nope, not happening here!
1 Avocado: cut + pit, and into your blender of choice!
1 (or more than one, it’s your smoothie) spoon of honey!
1 cup of coconut milk. I used the mug I planned to drink from to make less mess!
blend, blEND, BLEND
Voila! Avocado Smoothie is done.
We made a second Avo Smoothie with some rosemary blended in to try and switch it up a little because honestly, I did NOT love the orig drink. Much better, but I do not forsee any more of these smoothies in my future.
Overall verdict? As an avocado hater, I’m not a fan of this. BUT the avocado lover who ended up drinking both mine + her smoothie is now a convert. So, if you already love avocados- go wild! You will love this, but if you’re on the fence and you only trust guacamole when you load it up with a bunch of other junk- maybe skip this recipe?
