For most photoshoots I am usually somewhere behind the camera looking at the model’s hair, trying to perfect each strand hoping every hair has a purpose and makes sense.
Recently I shot with Katie, an artist, photographer and cool creative genius whose work makes you take a second look at her images.
Her work in three words? Moody, experimental and synesthetic.
We created this after-hours party with only feathers as my guests and painted makeup that feels like the tired version of Natalie Portman’s black swan makeup.
I always say that working on a photo shoot is magical. I usually only get a glimpse from the sidelines, somewhere behind the photographer.
This experience in front of the camera still supports my theory about photo shoots being magical. With the constant flow of creative energy along with the noise of the camera shutter in the air. Katie’s work is nothing short of magic, in a moody art girl type of way.
