JANUARY FAVOURITES | 2021

Hey, hi, helllllo!

I love reading other people’s monthly favourite posts because 1) I’m nosy and 2) I like seeing what other people like and use those as recommendations. ex, most of the makeup I’ve purchased in the past 5 years is probably something I saw on someone else’s favourites post and it convinced me to try it too.

So, not much going on this January really. We are still mostly staying at home due to ~pandemic~ and with weather being cold we don’t have many reasons to go outside.. so what exactly am I loving this month?

  1. Pour-Over Coffee Maker
Harrison and I love drinking coffee, like loooooove it. We spend so much money on coffee/ caffeine every month that purchasing a pour-over coffee maker made sense when we decided we wanted to budget better to start saving money. I don’t really have time to be messing with something that has loads of parts, so this coffee maker is no fuss and low mess with the compostable filters. We are also able to grind our own beans to the need of how much coffee we want. I saw on TikTok that pre-ground coffee has bugs in it- gross. So that is a major plus for me.
  2. Aldi
I realize now that I’ve officially entered the adult world when I list a grocery store as one of my favourites. But hear me out dude, they have $3 grocery delivery and they have suuuuch good food. For really good prices. They have mochi and salmon and baby food. They always have the cold brew that I love in Stok! (get it, I love Stok cold brew). I save so much money on my weekly groceries from shopping at Aldi, and even with a delivery fee, I find myself less likely to start chucking things into my cart while trying to stay on a budget!
  3.  Missguided Colour Block Sweater
If you are paying attention to fashion brands and trends right now, people are going crazy over Paloma Wool + Lisa Says Gah!. Featuring big prints with contrasting colours and injecting statement items in everyday attire. I love bold prints but now that my hair is pink I kept my new winter sweater purchase simple and got a split colour sweater in black + white. I found a great dupe sweater from Missguided that gives the Paloma Wool vibe sans the price tag + I feel like I’ll be able to dress this up and down depending on the occasion.
  4. Olaplex No 3
If you aren’t a stranger to the beauty world you’ve probably heard of Olaplex. If you are someone who likes to play with their hair and isn’t afraid of bleach and colour you’ve probably used Olaplex or your stylist has told you about it. I have been loving my Olaplex No 3 since I bleached my hair and went pink. It’s no secret that bleach is damaging for your hair, and this product really works hard to help repair my hair from the trauma I put it through.

“…global best-seller is an at-home treatment, not a conditioner, that reduces breakage and visibly strengthens hair, improving its look and feel. It will restore your hair’s healthy appearance and texture by repairing damage and protecting hair structure.” -Olaplex Pro Site

  5. The Book Of Moods
I swear before the baby I used to love reading. That being said, I have been working on this book for the past month (slowly). I have been trying to be more intentional with my reactions, trying to be more in tune with myself when I can feel an emotion coming on and prevent myself from getting into a “mood”. The timing feels right for me to be reading this book since I know I am such an emotional person (literally might as well be a window since I am so transparent with how I’m feeling). There are so many things going on in the world, I think it’s a great tool to have to be able to take control of your emotions.

That’s it, those are the favourites. See ya lata.
