You know that feeling you get when you’re settling in for a great read?

Reading had become a priority in an effort to stop being a scroll-zombie* + chase that feeling as I entered 2019 I realized I spent wayyyyyy to much time on my phone. I’ve been posting most of the titles I’ve been reading on my instagram- but I thought I’d come on here and share my Top 6 Reads as we enter the second half of our year.

Bloom By Estee Lalonde, a lovely little lifestyle book by my favourite online content creator. An easy read or coffee table book that gives us a closer look into her life as she elaborates on her life experiences. Bloom is Estee “Navigating Life + Style” and it’s a refreshing read as someone who is ~personally~ still trying to navigate life + finding my own style through my twenties.

Crazy Rich Asians (the series) I’m sorry but this whole series is probably the 2019 book favourite. Kevin Kwan literally whisks you away to the world of Singaporean luxury, glam and d-r-a-m-a so well that you feel actual withdrawals when you’re away from the books. I can’t give away too much, because I want you to read this!! Excitingly, there is the movie based on the first book and if you haven’t watched it you totally should!!!!!!! It helps give you great visuals for all the characters in the series but even without the movie visual aid, Kwan’s writing is so good your imagination is easily led to creating gorgeous gowns and some serious crazy rich drama! I don’t think I’ve been this excited about a book series since Narnia when I was like eight.

The Au Pair If you like a little mystery, and love some drama then run don’t walk to your closest bookstore. I pre-ordered this book while seeing on a 2019 Books To-Read list floating around the internet and so happy I did. It feels the void in my heart that HBO’s Sharp Objects left when it ended (I haven’t read it yet don’t @ me). I recommend you give this a go if you’re new to Mystery as a genre but love a juicy secret, personally I’m hoping HBO picks this up + turns to a series.

The Woman in The Window I purchased this book in a Target in Georgia on the way home back from my honeymoon. I had just finished the last of the C.R.A** series and I neeeeeded another book to get through the long car ride. If you like sitting at the edge of your seat, but not be too spooked out this book will fulfil your thriller cravings and rip your heart out just a little. My only advice for this read is if you plan on road tripping with this book, remember to buckle up because this gets a little crazy.

I just bought Big Little Lies to read before the second season comes out, and I’m so PUMPED to read it!!! Enough about me tho, what about you? What books have you been reading? Let me know <3

*Scroll-Zombie = Person who is mindlessly scrolling online, just to pass time. Also using it as an excuse to not to something else
**C.R.A = Crazy Rich Asians
